Zishi Tu is a London-based Creative Technologist and 3D Artist whose practice explores the construction of imaginary worlds through cuteness, mythology, play, and dark fantasy. Working across interactive installation, pen plotter painting, visual games, animation, and 3D digital media, she creates characters and environments that exist between tenderness and unease.

Her work centres on the idea of building an alternative world through cute characters. These figures are not only visual forms, but also emotional carriers, narrative fragments, and symbolic beings. They inhabit strange, playful, and sometimes unsettling spaces, inviting audiences to enter a world where softness becomes powerful, and cuteness becomes a language for storytelling, transformation, and resistance.

 
Zishi Tu(子石)是一位数字艺术家,3D艺术家,毕业于伦敦大学金史密斯学院计算机艺术专业。围绕着【让可爱角色来构筑一个等价世界】的主题,她将其想象中的可爱又暗黑的形象融入到各个媒介的创作中,包括机械装置、绘图仪绘画以及视觉游戏。并期待这些角色形象可以讲述新的故事。

Abracadabra

Visual Novel

An motion capture project about the birth of a virtual idol, divided in three acts: The Birth, The Climax, The Death. This online personas is characterised by researches about a role model, built by technology and is motion captured by humans.

The three acts are simplified as below:
  • Act I (The Birth): an idol is born
  • Act II (The Climax): she reaches the top of her career
  • Act III (The Death): got betrayed by people who worship her the most.

I independently completed all character designs and rigging, as well as cleaning and retargeting motion capture data. Additionally, I also contributed to gameplay design, writing, and scene design.

This is a Visual Novel Game (a form of digital semi-interactive fiction, combine a textual narrative with static or animated illustrations and a varying degree of interactivity ) where the player takes on the role of a detective investigating the room of a virtual idol who has committed suicide. The game is divided into 4 steps, each step opens up interactions with different objects, revealing clues and reasons behind her death.
